Monocle is a programmable pocket-sized AR device that features a camera, a microphone, an internal projector screen, and Bluetooth capability. It can be programmed using MicroPython, and provides a range of tools and features that allow developers to delve into new ideas and create immersive AR experiences.
In our initial brainstorming phase, our group explored various potential functionalities for our device.
We contemplated creating an interactive spatial guide game where the device's screen would display arrows to direct users to their destinations. Additionally, we considered implementing a maze feature that could randomly generate pathways, offering a unique way to explore new areas—ideal for those enthusiastic about city walks and urban exploration.
However, due to time constraints, we decided to harness the Monocle device's capabilities to develop a revolutionary automatic translation feature that supports both audio and text.
This innovation not only transcends language barriers but also significantly enhances user engagement, proving invaluable in scenarios such as attending classes or visiting foreign-language countries.
